proudly serves 1,984 people and is the county seat for Decatur County, Iowa. The department is comprised of three full-time
officers, five reserve officers and a part-time departmental clerk. All full time officers attend an intensive 13-week
training and certification from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. The department prides itself on honesty, integrity, and
the community policing philosophy. Members of the department give many unselfish hours of service to the people and organizations
of the community. I am proud of the accomplishments of the department and its members as we continue to excel at providing
the best possible service to the community of Leon."
